Paper Swans
Near the Toshogu Shrine in Ueno Park there is a monument to remember the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. In the monument there is an "eternal" flame that was kindled from a burning ember taken near the blast site and hundreds of colorful paper swans, symboling the story of a girl who survived the nuclear blast only to die later on from radiation poisoning.
